Who love Pugs? My beaded Pug pins have recently become one of my best sellers on Etsy! My latest one is all black. I used 15/o charlotte seed beads for sparkle, as well as steel gray for contrast. How does he look?
Now, this item is available in either black or fawn color. Please specify color when ordering HERE. For those who may be interesting in making your own beaded Pug pin, I am in the middle of writing the pattern & instructions, so please stay tuned:)
I have also finished making another baby pink beaded poodle pin. I started beading this miniature poodle at last week’s bead embroidery workshop. I used bubblegum pink 8/o seed beads, as well as ceylon white Delicas.
Here’s how it looks as a pendant! Adorable, right? Please click the pics to view more photos on Etsy:)

Here are two new pink poodle pins. These were made with Delicas and size 8 seed beads. This is the design we will be working on in my bead embroidery workshop at Boston Bead Company later this month:)
I have also made a tiny white beaded poodle pin, a Yorkshire Terrier with red Collar, a Bichon-Frise w/ blue Swarovski Crystal hair clip, and a purple poodle pin. Also available is a new beaded Corgi and West Highland White Terrier. These are all currently ready to ship!

Thursday night’s reception at Boston Bead Company was fun! What a wonderful opportunity to show some of my beadwork in Harvard Square. I also had the chance to talk about my creative process to those who were interested and perhaps new to bead embroidery. Here’s a quick pic of Carson Eddy, the shop owner, and I.. We had a great time checking out all of the gorgeous seed beads currently in stock for the Fall Seed Bead Trunk Show!
After the reception, I went out with friends sporting my latest micro-beaded poodle necklace. This piece is so much fun to wear & it really commands attention. Perhaps I should make more beaded dog collars!
If you are in the Boston area, and would like to learn how to do bead embroidery, Boston Bead Company has added a beading class with me to next month’s calendar! :O

Long time, no post! For those who haven’t been following my beadwork on Facebook, here is my latest creation. A micro-beaded dog collar (or choker necklace) featuring 7 corded poodles in all different colors!
Each poodle was created individually by stitching tiny glass seed beads to felt 2-3 beads at a time. The poodles’ hair was made using Czech 1x4mm micro-bugle beads and 13/o charlottes. The hair is long beaded fringe which actually moves when you touch it, feeling silky soft!
After the poodles were beaded, they were then stitched together into the shape of the necklace. Closure is a sterling silver chain & lobster claw clasp. Beadwork measures approx. 10″ x 3″ (25cm wide x 7.7cm tall). Necklace fits 14″ – 16″ (35 – 40cm). Please view the Etsy listing for more details.
This is a one-of-a-kind wearable art piece which will not be duplicated. If you are interested in a custom beaded dog collar of a different breed, please contact me through my Etsy shop. Thank you for your interest in my beadwork!

Today, I’d like to show you a quick pic of my latest custom order, a little beaded dog pin named Fluffy:)
A friend of mine sent me a few pics of Fluffy. Not knowing the breed, I worked from photos only. I came up with a sketch, cut out some felt and started beading. I used several different white, cream, and brown size 15 glass seed beads. The first layer of beadwork (above) is rather sparse, but the second layer more than makes up for it (below). I also added some beaded loops and fringe on the dog’s ears to add dimension. Complete, this piece measures approx. 3cm x 4.5cm.
How do you think Fluffy looks, and more importantly, what kind of dog do you think she is?
Last week, I finished beading another corded poodle. This one is pink! These micro-beaded poodles will eventually be part of a larger wearable collar necklace. At least, that’s my plan! What color poodle should I make next?
I also finished a new custom order for my Etsy shop! Two beaded Pug pins with little floppy ears that really move! I really like how these turned out, so I listed this item in my shop as made-to-order. Click the pic for more details:
Back to beading & enjoying this beautiful day!
