Well, it took me a few months, but I finally finished my beaded painting! This piece is entitled Majestic, named after the Boston theatre of the same name. Perhaps you have walked past this alley many times without noticing it..
Bead embroidery on canvas.. 20″ x 24″.
This piece features a bead-embroidered Peterbilt semi truck w/American Bulldog. Materials used in this piece include: metal & glass seed beads, Swarovski crystals, sterling silver, wire, leather cord, felt, & acrylics.. The truck measures approx. 10″ x 10″, and the entire piece measures 20″ x 24″. Beadwork was hand-stitched to a painted canvas, as well as bits of wire, leather, beaded rats, beaded cigarette butts, and one beaded pigeon. (Can you find him?)
This piece will eventually be listed for sale in my Etsy shop.. Until then, I have posted detail photos of this piece on my website.. Thanks for looking!!

Here’s an update on the progress of my beaded Peterbilt semi- truck. After beading the American flag grill, headlights, and cab, I created two beaded lights using 12-gauge precious metal wire. I stitched a ball of felt to the ends of them, and bead embroidered orange Delicas around the felt. I wasn’t sure this would work at first, but it turned out kinda cool!
And, even though working with wire is not my forté, somehow I managed to create 2 side view mirrors by stitching liquid silver bugle beads to precious metal wire.
Currently, the truck consists of 4 pieces of beadwork + 2 wire lights. Nothing will be stitched together until all of the pieces have been created.
I still need to add some lights on top of the cab, as well as a beaded doggie passenger:) How does it look so far?

For the past few days, I’ve been busy beading my semi- truck. I used Preciosa rhinestone squaredelles for the head lights. I stitched them on end which really helps to create dimension! I also beaded several layers of metallic Delicas around them to keep them together. How do you think it looks so far? Next, I will start working more detailed parts, like side-view mirrors and exhaust stacks.. :O
Besides this project, I have been preparing for my first bead embroidery workshop. I am also currently celebrating 200 sales in my Etsy shop! FIRST TIME CUSTOMERS use coupon code OCT200 to receive 10% off any order now through October 31, 2012. Thank you so much for your interest in my beadwork!

I have finally found some time to start working on a larger piece – a beaded semi-truck! This one is inspired by a friend’s photo of a Peterbilt truck spotted at work one day.
I enlarged the photo and used it to cut out many layers of felt in several shapes. The felt foundation measures approx. 10″ x 10″.. I stitched the layers of felt together and began beading an American flag grille using a mix of red, white, & blue seed beads.
Once I finished the flag, I beaded a silver frame around it. I used 11/o Czech glass charlottes, and larger fire-polished beads. It is very sparkly, much like the real truck:)
Now, I am working on the bumper. This area is quite large, so I stitched a variety of metal beads onto the felt. I plan to fill in the spaces with more seed beads. How does it look so far?

Just a quick post today. I wanted to show you my new Etsy shop banner! I was kind of stressed about it for awhile, but I finally came up with something that I like. I wanted it to represent my current style, as well as what I can do on commission. I plan to add beaded pop art to the shop in the future, so I needed something that really grabs people. I also noticed that The Lone Beader’s Gallery Shop
comes up on the same page as Roy Lichtenstein
when you Google search ‘pop art car
