New Beaded Golden Retriever Dog Pin

Since I sold my beaded ‘Boston Strong’ pin so quickly, I decided to bead another Golden Retriever..My family had one of these dogs when I was small. His name was Moosie. He was my best friend and my protector, but that didn’t stop him from eating the ice cream cone right out of my hand! :p

This item was made using tiny size 15 seed beads. I layered beaded fringe to create his long flowing hair, and his beadwoven ear actually moves when you touch it! New Beaded Wire Fox Terrier Pin

Last week, I made a new beaded dog pin pendant- a Wire Fox Terrier! I have always loved these dogs! This bead embroidery brooch was made by stitching tiny glass seed beads to felt 2-3 at a time. This piece is now available for sale. Please click the pic to view more photos at my Etsy shop:

Also, I am happy to announce that my beaded ‘Boston Strong’ Golden Retriever pin has sold today! A portion of the sale price of this item will be donated to The One Fund aiding the people most affected by the Boston Marathon Bombings. I think I will make a new beaded Comfort Dog pin soon!

Floppy Beaded Basset Hound Ears

Last week, I beaded a new doggie pin – a Basset Hound – inspired by a Facebook friend’s dog named Bunjy!

This beaded dog was made by stitching several felt layers onto a piece of stiff beading foundation. I used size 15 seed beads for the entire dog, layering them to accentuate his wrinkles. His ears were made using a freeform peyote stitch technique. They are 2cm long and floppy! Finished piece measures 4cm x 4cm.

Beaded Bichon-Frise doggie face earrings. I used Japanese size 15 seed beads and tiny glass doll eyes. They hang on sterling silver fish hooks, but they could also be made as studs..

New Beaded Black & White Cat Pin

Finally, I made a new beaded cat pin!

This cat was inspired by my friend’s cat named JoJo who lives in London. He is a bicolor cat who looks a lot like Sylvester! I used size Japanese seed beads for the entire piece, layering 15/o charlottes for extra sparkle. This cat’s long hair is beaded fringe which actually moves when you touch it. I haven’t made a lot of cats because their nose and eyes are difficult to bead at this scale, but I am really happy with how this one turned out. New Beaded Dog Pins For Sale on Etsy!

These past couple of weeks, I have been busy making some new pet pins which are now available for sale at my Etsy shop!

Most recently, I finished making my Cheery Chocolate Lab pin/ pendant. I made this for Etsy Bead Embroidery Guild‘s Bead Fest #4: Chocolate & Cherries. I can also make this design as a Yellow or Black lab upon request.

Here are two new pink poodle pins. These were made with Delicas and size 8 seed beads. This is the design we will be working on in my bead embroidery workshop at Boston Bead Company later this month:)

I have also made a tiny white beaded poodle pin, a Yorkshire Terrier with red Collar, a Bichon-Frise w/ blue Swarovski Crystal hair clip, and a purple poodle pin. Also available is a new beaded Corgi and West Highland White Terrier. These are all currently ready to ship!

If you are interested in a beaded pet pin of a different breed or even a different animal, I am happy to accept custom orders on a first come first serve basis. Thank you for your interest in my beadwork!

>Beaded Rufous Hummingbird

Right now, I have two small projects on my work table. After painting a small canvas for one piece, I began beading this tiny Rufous Hummingbird:

Bead embroidery on felt. “1.5 x “1.25 wide. Work in progress.

This little bird is similar to the Ruby Throated Hummingbird pin in my Etsy shop. I used 7 different colours of size 15 Japanese seed beads and copper wire was used for the beak and claw. Like my Tufted Titmouse, this will become part of a small beaded painting! Now, back to that canvas I was working on…
