‘Radio City’ Bead Painting – Finished!

Radio City Music Hall NYC beaded painting bead embroidery glass seed beads acrylic

'Radio City'. Bead embroidery on painted canvas. 30" x 40" (76cm x 102cm).

Last week, I finally finished my beaded Radio City Music Hall painting! This piece consists of glass seed beads and speaker grill fabric stitched to an acrylic-painted canvas. (You can view an enlarged photo on Flickr.) I have worked on this off and on since October, so I feel it’s a real accomplishment to finally have it completed and hanging on my wall. Over the next few weeks, I will be working on a couple of smaller beadwork projects while I think about the subject of my next big painting…  I’ll also be busy packing and getting ready to move back to Boston… New beading adventures await! :D

  4. I love the way you made the cabs look like they are in motion!

  5. It was great to come across a project using beads that is not for jewelry wear! There are so many things that can be done with beads besides making necklaces, earrings etc. I love it when I see projects that were weaved together into sculptures as well. I will think of your Radio City bead painting every time I walk by there!

  6. It’s so cool! I love the way the cars look and the grill work was a great idea!
