Beads of a Creamsicle Cat

I am trying to keep up my regular schedule of working on items for
my Etsy shop on the weekends. Here's my latest project - a beaded cat pin/pendant! This cat is inspired by a blogger friend's cat named Boris. He is a big beautiful orange & white creamsicle kitty. I think he is a Tabby cat, but I am not sure. Please stop by The Poor Mouth and see Boris for yourself! :)

For this piece, I am using about 6 different colour size 15 Japanese seed beads. The primary orange colour is Toho 15/o Hyacinth Lined Jonquil. They seemed bright at first, but it turns out they are actually the perfect colour to represent Boris.

Semi-beaded Boris the Cat. 2.25 " x 1.25" (5.5cm x 3.5cm).
Bead embroidery on felt.

So far, I have completed the first layer of beads and I will say that took quite a while! Now, I need to add some layered fringe to really bring Boris to life. We'll see how he looks when I am finished! How do you think he looks so far? :D

Great cat! I love the detail you get in your work. Don't you just love 15's?

Thanks everyone! Jams, I am happy that you approve! :) And, I do love 15's, but I don't love that it takes forever to bead something with them! *lol*
