Thanks to all who entered my beading book giveaway of the week! Congrats to GraceBeading from Ft. Wayne, Indiana! She will receive a brand new copy of 'Beading with World Beads' by Ray Hemachandra (courtesy of Lark Books)! I will announce my next book giveaway on Monday. I hope you'll stop by to enter! :)

Today, I listed a new item in my Etsy shop - a fun pair of beaded Upside Down Christmas Tree earrings! These consist of bead embroidery on felt using primarily triangle-shaped seed beads. The reason I made these was because Artbeads.com recently sent me some beautiful Cubic Zirconia beads, including the Lavender Stars in the photo above. As soon as I saw them, I wanted to use them on a Christmas tree, but when I got them, I realized that the drill-hole was going through one point of the star rather than through the entire star. So, I had to had to turn my design upside-down! Either way, the Cubic Zirconia Star adds a beautiful sparkling finish to a rather simple design idea! To view more photos of my beaded earrings, please check my Etsy listing! How do you think they look? :)
And, speaking of Artbeads.com, I would like give you the opportunity to win a $25 Email Gift Certificate to their online shop! Use it to buy beautiful beads or a jewelry-making supply that you have always dreamed of! :)

I love your beaded dog. Do you know where I can find instructions for this work, or is it your own creations? I understand if you don't want to give out that info though.
I would love to win though.
thanks
Thanks everyone, and thank you, Craft Cove! All of my beadwork is my own design. I am in the process of jotting down a few designs. Thanks for your interest! :)
Cute earrings, and of course I'd love to have a few extra beads. :)

I've actually been somewhere (darn if I could remember where...) where there was a Christmas tree desplayed hanging upside down from the ceiling. So your cute earrings are not too far off the mark! lol

Hi Joyfulart, the Upside Down Christmas tree was a marketing gimmic a few years ago. Target and other retailers were selling fake ones, and they were the hottest sellers of the season! :)
who couldn't use more beads? ;)
