Finally, I am making some more progress on my beaded M1 Abrams main battle tank. I have stitched canvas paper depicting American flags onto the shadow below my tank. If you look closely, you'll see that these flags are those that are draped over the coffins of our fallen soldiers. This image is taken from a recent news article. I manipulated the image using Photoshop, printed it out, & photocopied it several times. Then, I painted the images onto canvas paper using an Acrylic Matte Medium. Magically, this turned the black printer ink green. I decided I like it!
Semi-beaded M1 Abrams main battle tank. Bead embroidery on f elt.
21" wide x 11" tall (53 x 30cm)
Next, I plan to imbed the coffin images into the felt with more bead embroidery. Right now, I think the shadow looks more like a somber reflection of the tank. We'll see how it looks after I do a little more beadwork! :o

I was put off by your choice of project and have been skimming your blog. But the recent entries have made me realize, I had it all wrong. How did I miss your real intent? Sorry for doubting your vision in the beginning.
Thanks for the comments everyone! And, yarngoddess, thank you! Not all of of art's messages are obvious at first! Especially my bead art! Thanks for your interest! ;)
I like the way this is turning out! The shadow is a very poetic touch.

Beautifully crafted art that is "aware." Nick sent me here. I'm glad he did!
