Layered Lazy Stitch

beaded camo camouflage print military Afghanistan U.S. pop art war bead embroidery
Just when I thought I was finished beading my M1 Abrams military tank, I added more seed beads! After finishing the wheels, I added more Japanese size 15 sand-coloured beads all over the body of the tank using lazy stitch technique! I think it adds a bit of texture, and I really like how it looks! Can you see the stitches??

I have also stitched a zipper to the bottom of the tank, although I'm not sure I like it just yet - I may add another one! Then, I have to stitch the entire tank together, as it is still 3 separate pieces... Wish me luck! :)

As a wife to a now retired army guy, I've seen my share of tanks. I think I like yours the best!

The texture really makes me look at it more than once. And the zipper works!

Seriously, those are amazing. I once started a beaded shirt in high school, it was actually a repair that I just kept going on. I never wore it after that and still have it. This is going back over (ahem) 20 years.

Great job!
