Bead embroidery on felt. 3" tall x 1-1/4" wide (7.5 cm x 3.5cm). Available for sale at The Lone Beader's Gallery Shop.
Yesterday, I made another beaded Northern Cardinal brooch for my Etsy shop! This one is similar to the last one I made, but this one has a pin/pendant finding attached on the back so it can also be worn on a necklace. I used size 15/o & 11/o Japanese & Czech glass beads in 6 different colours. I also layered some hex beads over the wing to make it stand out more. The tips of the feathers are tiny fringes which actually move when you touch them. I also used wire for legs and a natural pine branch. A bird-lover would really make a statement by wearing this pin - it really sparkles! To see close-up photos, please click the image above. What other birds & animals do you think I should make for my shop? Thanks for your suggestions! :)

I love this one, LB. The moving tail is definitely a plus.
It is quite realistic looking.
I love it LB!
This is amazing work - I don't know how you can see to do it!
Hi there! I just love your work. I think one of my faves is your Rudy, just so sweet. It really comes through! I would love to feature some of your work on my blog next Friday if you wouldn't mind. Thanks and have a great week, Lisa C., www.abeadaday.blogspot.com
Beautiful work -- and cardinals are such beautiful birds
Another stunning beaded creature. You're just amazing.
I think he look really Cardinal-ly!
Howdy - just catching up on your blog this morning, and I had to drop a note and say: you are such a dang genius! Amazing, amazing work.
Oh, I like this cardinal! Love the hex beads...it does stand out more and I like that the feather are tiny fringes and move! I especially like the natural pine branch...beautiful, Diana!
Well...a Rufous Hummingbird would be delightful and I'd love to see a squirrel with a bushy tail one day! And, if you really want to challenge yourself a Flicker would be really cool. Their colors and patterns are beautiful! XO ~me
Thanks for the replies!! I love Flickers! I hope to make a beaded woodpecker soon, too. :D
