Those who have been reading my blog for the past couple of years will remember my custom pet portrait called The Divas. It is a beaded portrait of 4 Old English Sheepdogs.

This piece was pretty popular in the blogosphere while I was working on it, and it ended up being published in the June 2007 issue of Bead & Button magazine. It was also published in a Russian magazine last year! Well, I decided to bring the Divas back, and create my favourite dogs as beaded pins or pendants!

Here is the first OES I created. Her name is Rachel. I used all size 15 seed beads, a button for her nose, and taxidermy eyes (although you probably can't see those)! She is made from 2 layers of beadwork. I worked on her for approx. 2 days, and she is still not finished. She needs a backing, but I have decided to list her in my Etsy shop anyways. Customers can pick whether they would like her finished as a pin, a pendant, or a sew-on applique for use in one of their own handmade projects! Personally, I think she would look cool as a pendant on a silk ribbon! She will definitely attract attention wherever she goes! Please click the pic to see more more photos:
2.5" x 1.25"w (6cm x 3cm)
Which Diva is your favourite, and which one do you think I'll make next?? :D
Also, if you have time, check out the new Easter Sale Section in my shop for unique beaded items available at 25-50% off! Thank you for your interest, and have a great day! :D

oh Gosh! This is sooo cute! I missed it the first time around. I love all of them, but especially the sassy one on the end with oh-so-much shag!
I love the divas!
What a great idea!!! I just hope you put a significant price on them, because they are priceless! Robin A.
Thanks, Lydia!! That is the one I am working on right now! I just love the flower in her hair!
Also, thanks for your comment, Robin! Don't worry, my sheepdogs are priced appropriately, I think! :D
Um, ok, wow! I am in awe!
Wow... I am so impressed with your work!
We think you sure sell loads of these, they are beautiful and you can see the amount of work that goes into them. I was wearing my FAZ pin the other day and got lots of comments and compliments. Christine

Oh, I don't think I can pick my favorite because I adore each one!!! Wondering if you won't make the diva with the crown? Does the other one have a halo over her head?...as in angel diva? Doesn't matter which one you make next...she will be as darling as the others!
Checking out your sale and Etsy again...wish I could have *ALL* the dogs and birds!!! ~wink~
