Bead Embroidery Master Class

Мастер-класс (Master Class)

The power of the internet always amazes me. A few months ago, I realized that my blog was getting a lot of hits from a very cute Russian blog. Someone had posted a photo of my beaded Polish Lowland Sheepdog, Einstein. I was flattered, and translated the page to English so I could read. Those who commented wanted to learn how to do this kind of bead embroidery.

Within a day or so, I received an email from a woman named Oksana. She asked if I could write a bead embroidery master class for her website, Barbaris.net. At the time, I was very busy to write up a new tutorial. So, I told her that she is welcome to post the basic bead embroidery tutorial that I have already written for EBSQ. The project is a little cat brooch. I also sent her a link to read an online translation in Russian so she could understand it better. Well, today, she emailed me to tell me she posted it!! I am honoured! *blush* Click the screen shot below to check it out:

You can read Google's translation to English HERE. And, you can also read my original tutorial HERE. Overall, I think it is a very good interpretation! I think this experience will help motivate me to start writing a couple of patterns to sell in my online shop. It seems there could be a market for them! I explored the website a bit more, and noticed a list of other master classes that have been posted. You can see them here if you're interested:

When I first began beading & blogging, I never knew I would end up making so many connections from around the world, but I am grateful I have! I am also happy to know that my efforts are helping others learn more about the fine craft of beadwork. =:)

Thanks! Yes, it is exciting! I don't know if I will see any work inspired by my tutorial, but that would be cool. Maybe I will ask about that! :D

It's nice and refreshing that you stay with it and you seem to be just as enthusiastic about beading now as you did when I first started reading your blog.

Congrats! To me, one of the major joys of beading is the opportunity to get to know other beaders, whether in person or online. Sharing our art is what it's all about.
