Beaded Airedale Terrier

Just a quick post today. Here is the latest item available in my Etsy shop - a bead embroidered Airedale Terrier named Tawny. Tawny is named after the dog I had when I was a kid. :) You can see her as a work in progress below:

Tawny Bear beaded Airedale Terrier fine art pin bead embroidery beadworkUsing the backstitch technique, Tawny was made with tiny size 15 Japanese seed beads, and a glass taxidermy eye for her nose. There are tiny fringes on her legs and face. She is also very small - only 1.5" wide! Precise stitching was required to create this piece. :o

Available at The Lone Beader's Gallery Shop! Click for more pics!

This piece is both a pin and a pendant, and is available for sale at The Lone Beader's Gallery Shop. I hope you'll stop by and take a peek! Thank you for your interest in my beadwork! :D

Wow, I've never seen anything like this before!

When I was a kid I didn't know that Airedale was an actual breed of dog. I just thought it was another name for "dog."

And I went to high school with a girl named Tawny.

Just thought I'd share. ;-)

Thanks for the comments! Jams, a possible commission sounds exciting!

Jay, you are funny! :)

And, don't worry, Mo, I have lots of art planned for 2009! Had to take a couple of weeks off to get my shop going! :D

now that is painstaking work -- I'd go crosseyed.

that's so intricate looking. great effort there!

Amazing detail in such a tiny piece. How much do you charge for something like that? My mom breeds japanese chins and a pin would make a great gift.

Thanks for the comments!! Shannon, there is a link to my shop in the sidebar. Depends on how many hours/ materials it takes to make each piece! Thanks for your interest! :D

I'm really enjoying all your "critters", LB. You have a real knack for giving each of them it's own personality.

Looks just like Tawny the Bear! Funny how I was just thinking about Tawny this morning when I looked at a picture that Nancy painted of me and Tawny...and you just made a beaded TB. Great work!
