I accomplished a lot of beadwork today! I finished beading the first layer of my DeLorean time machine. I used the metallic hex-cut glass beads I found when I was in the Czech Republic. They are a little sparkly, but I think it will be okay- I'm not finished beading yet... :o

Above, you can see that I'm working in two layers - one layer of felt for the gull-wing door, and the other for the body of the car. I think it will be easier this way since I have to add an interior. Here are the two layers put together:
After bending the body just a bit, my beaded DeLorean is already taking shape! The interior space inside the car measures approx. 1" deep! I snapped an angled photo with no flash so you can see:

One of my dear friends had bought his wife one of the only three DeLorean's in Canada, many many years back.
So cool to see the time machine beaded :D
Your skills never cease to amaze me.
More amazement, I just finished reading your post on your visit to Czech, and wow! Wow! I'm SO jealous!
Just one of the places I intend to visit in this lifetime in my bead quests.
Awesome work LB!
That angled shot really makes it stand out. You're just crazy lady but I like it.
You just keep on beadin!
that is looking really classy and the photos really help us get a sense of it.
It looks like it sparkles a lot!!! :)
Very nice! What did you use for the windshield?
Arline
Thanks for all the comments! I would love to own a DeLorean one day! That would rock. And, Arline, so far the windshield is just black felt with a piece of clear vinyl over top of it, and bead embroidery around the edge... :D
Wow LB... this is pretty dang cool, looks like another masterpiece in the making. I'm looking forward to following your process and progress!
It's looking really good -- thanks for the depth shot, so that we can imagine how you're gonna fit stuff in there!
