Today, I cut out some more felt for my beaded 2008 DeLorean Time Machine. This will be the foundation which I will do bead embroidery on, and it is now 11 layers (approx. 1") thick.
I hope you'll keep posting your progress on this project, it looks fascinating. So... many layers of felt... and the beads go on top? Is this a 3D project?
Thanks for the comments! And, my beadwork is not quite 3D yet, but it is 'extremely dimensional'. The beads will eventually be stitched to the top of the felt! :D
Christine & Faz, this image of the time machine takes place at the end of the movie, when they take off into the future. The car heads straight towards the audience, then the credits roll! I love it...
And, you're welcome, Nick! I love Roy's work. He is one of my inspirations. :D

This one is going to be good. What made you think of doing it from the front?
The Roy Lichtenstein site is neat! Thanks, LB, for the URL; I’d never have thought to look for it without your guidance.

Do you know what colours you are going to do it in?
Hi Lorenzo! I'm going to try to do it in the original steel/gray colour. Gotta look through my bead stash today! :D
You need some matte steel beads for that car. Nothing but the best? RighT?
11 layers?! That looks crazy thick! Looking forward to seeing how this one becomes a beaded reality! :)
