Today, I finally got around to doing some beadwork on my Yellow Submarine! First, I added windows by stitching two pieces of clear vinyl to the back of the top layer of felt. Then, I stitched on some 6/o matte red seed beads following the lines I drew with a fabric pen.

While I was working on that, I received this message from Faith J. in Memphis, TN:
"I have a memory of being at home with my brothers and one sister. It’s late winter of 1967. All five of us kids are getting ready for school and dancing to Penny Lane on the record player. We ranged in age from 17 down to 9 and we all loved the Beatles. Good thing my mom also liked them, because she had to listen to them seven......no make that...... eight days a week........lol!"
A record player??
Wait... I remember those! I think I used to have one! I remember it was a red & white suitcase record player with a picture of Donny & Marie Osmond on the lid... What I would do to get that back!

AAArgh the Osmonds! They were big here in the early/mid 70s... It is to Britain's shame that Little Jimmy topped then charts with Long Haired Lover!
OH wow I love that I can't wait to see it when it is done. This is Andreanna from glamasaurus thank you for the lovely comment on my blog!
haha The Osmonds! My sister had a couple of their albums. First album I ever bought was the Rolling Stones.
Ha! I don't remember that I ever actually had an Osmond record. I think one of my first records was Rick Springfield! At least, that's the one I remember playing on the my suitcase record player all the time. LOL.
Like you, some of those things from my childhood, I wish I had kept. I saw my first Hot Wheels car going for something like $60 at a store that sells them!
yes ;)
keep doing...
the good work!
Oh, how much I enjoyed hearing Penny Lane. It's been a while. 8) I see Yellow Submarine is well on it's way. You've got one of the best art process blogs out there. Colorful photographs and detailed descriptions. Penny Lane...reverb. Fun.
Ah, the beading is begun. I can hardly wait for the rest!
OOh...can't wait to see how this unfolds...as usual! :)
