I'm certain you need a little time to allow my last post to sink in... So, today will be light-hearted, I promise. Yesterday, Chalice tagged me - she wants to see my desktop and I thought it appropriate, so here's a peek:
I'm sure you're not surprised that my current desktop image is a Banksy. The title of this stenciled street art is 'Sweeping It Under The Carpet'. I found this on Banksy's website awhile back and thought it was perfect for me. I am so lazy when it comes to cleaning my desk and beading workspace; what I really needed was my own personal maid. LOL.
I did a bit of research and read that this painting is actually a portrait of a hotel maid named Leanne. She cleaned Banksy's room during a visit to Los Angeles. Banksy said "She was quite a feisty lady." (Hmmm... sounds as though he enjoyed his stay:) This work has also been seen as a metaphor for the West's reluctance to tackle issues such as AIDS in Africa. Banksy's painting appeared overnight on a wall owned by the Camden Roundhouse Performing Arts Center in London. The owner was happy to host the graffiti art, but it has since been buffed.
If you would like to download a Banksy, check out his shop - everything is free=:)
So, what's on your desktop? I'm not going to tag anyone today, but if you'd like to participate in this meme, you can find instructions on how to capture your screen image over at Chalice's blog. Have fun, and please stop by tomorrow for my first Wordless Wednesday post... =:)

Oh cool! Yeah, it was fun and easy to do this meme right? Have a great day!
Nothing like a good portrait to start the day right
Hooray for the more chillful post. I belong to those Germans who recognize that our terrible history must not be forgotten but as we learned so much in school about it and it is still a topic everyday in tv, I sometimes would appreciate not to be reminded of it anytime and anywhere ... ;)
You're joining WW? Excellent!
I've seen this one before. I like a lot fo his stuff. Very cool!
What a cool desktop picture and I love the story behind it! Thank you so much for posting it...
Have a terrific day!
The picture says a lot. Fiesty huh? I've been called far worse! She must have been a neat lady.
Thanks to the Veterans Administration, I now do have my own personal maid (well, for 8 hours a week, anyway). She helps out quite bit doing the things my health no longer allows me to do; however, I would never enjoy her in the way Banksy enjoyed that maid. My maid is, uh, well, not feisty and, hummm, rather yucky.
I hadn't stopped by in a while...life is so full right now. Your project is looking MAAAAHHHVELOUS!
I have a close up shot of the Orion Nebula.
