Under the Influence

If I could go anywhere in the world right now on my beaded bus, it would be to the Midwest Airlines Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. That is where this year's Bead & Button show is taking place, and it is a week-long event through June 10. This is the largest bead show in the country with over 360 vendors. This year, they expect more than 14,000 people to attend. For those of you who are new readers, two of my pieces will be on display there as part of the Bead Dreams 2007 competition - Waiting for Dad and Engine Co. 6. I am both nervous and excited about this, and now I'm wishing that I went to the show. This is the first time my work has ever been on display. If any of you happen to go to the show, please let me know what you think. Or better yet, please send me some photos, so I can see! I would greatly appreciate that:)

And, yes, that's really me riding in the bus next to Jimi Hendrix. If you enlarge the photo, it looks like I've been influenced by the other passengers, because I'm drinking a beer! At least, that's what it looks like... I am surprised at myself! LOL. Then again, a good beer and the blues go hand in hand:)

Hi--I sure wish I could go this beading event also--but it is sooo expensive with travel from California, then tuitions for the classes, then hotel....way beyond my (meager) student budget right now...sigh..
its great you have those pieces in the exhibit!

You didn't tell me to look for your work at Bead Dreams! Your work is awesome! I really am glad that you included Elvis on your magic bus and I love the Midwest Express Center's Atrium in the background! Nice touch.

I'll definitely take pictures for you.

I have a question for you - where did you get the counters on the right hand side that tell you where your visitors are from?

Good choice, I'd sit next to Jimi too.

I'd love to go to Wisconsin too, but, I'm not. But a beer sounds so good for the summertime. I don't even like beer, usually, but in the summer there nothing like a cold sip of beer to cool you off.

How come all of us are revealing what we look like this week? It must be something in the water.

At first, I thought, hey you shouldn't be drinkin' and drivin', but I remembered this is a British bus, so you're riding shot gun!

Awwww...thanks for all the comments.

Any, thanks for taking pics at the B&B show for me. U are sweet:)

Corky, I don't know why I did that. Inspiration hits me in the most unexpected ways.

And, Cynthia, your comment made me laugh:)
